Branching Out
Bridget (owner and teacher at The Orchard) and Kathy (local New Entrant school teacher) worked together BC (before children) at a primary school. While raising our children we were keen Playcentre mum's and we opened our eyes to the special early years, as our children blossomed. Bridget went onto open The Orchard Child Care & Preschool and Kathy went back to primary school teaching with a lens on the importance of Play Based Learning in the early years of school.
Now, after many years experience, we have decided to share the buds of what we have learned along the way and branch out to those educators around us who want to nurture the tamariki we are blessed to teach, or go onto extend into other fields.
We offer Professional learning and development alongside consultancy around ECE centre development and Early years curriculum delivery.

Growing Little People and their families
Guiding from ECE to the first years of school. (Transitions and biculturalism)
The 3 hour, multi setting, interactive, resource filled workshop morning focuses on our play based learning, resource suggestions, bicultural practices, transition practices, rituals, planning, assessments, child and whanau relationships in our child centred practice and ways you can weave this into your unique teaching style.
